Supply & return plenums

HVAC Plenum Cleaning in Houston, TX

The plenums are the boxes where air enters and leaves your air handler — and where dust, moisture and mold concentrate. We clean and inspect both supply and return plenums.

Quick answer

What is an HVAC plenum and why clean it?

The supply plenum sits on the outlet of the air handler and distributes air to the trunk lines; the return plenum collects air before the filter or blower. Both see high air volume and, on the supply side, cold humid air — making them common spots for dust buildup and mold in Gulf Coast homes.

Overview

What is plenum cleaning?

Because every bit of air passes through the plenums, buildup there affects the whole house. In humid homes the supply plenum above the coil can sweat, and duct board plenums can hold moisture and odor.

We access the plenums, clean them under negative pressure, inspect duct board or metal surfaces for damage or mold, and recommend sealing or replacement if surfaces are deteriorated.

Plenum Cleaning is part of our hvac cleaning services. Many customers book it together with hvac cleaning.
